Eduardo Inda interviews the president of the Community of Madrid
Ayuso: “Sánchez uses all the personal hatred he has for me through Alberto”
Isabel Diaz Ayuso addresses, emphatically, the persecution of Alberto González Amador. In this interview with the director of OKDIARIO, Eduardo Indathe president of the Community of Madrid, claims to be “a free and independent woman” and insists that her partner is “an anonymous person” who “has never taken advantage of any circumstance to do business.” He warns that “using all the powers of the State to harm the political adversary” is typical of “dictatorial States.” Ayuso defends the innocence of his partner and assures that “he has not taken advantage of anything, it does not seem to be the case of Begoña Gómez.”
QUESTION.- Let’s talk about your family persecution. First they went for his father, who has not been with us for ten years. Then, he went for his brother, and Justice said there was no crime. Now, they have gone after his partner, Alberto González Amador; Has this campaign eroded your relationship?
ANSWER.- Through Alberto, Sánchez uses all the personal hatred he has for me and moves the entire Government and all powers to go against a citizen who, if he were not my partner, would not be in this circumstance even remotely. The other day, in the corridors of Plaza de Castilla there were deputies from Más Madrid and there are lawyers from the PSOE in attendance. That shows you what we’re up to.
Q.- And, has it eroded your relationship?
A.- I have never talked about him, I have never made this relationship official, I have never introduced him and no one cares.
Q.- Of course, it has been discreet and I would say almost clandestine.
A.- No, I am simply a woman who defends her role in politics for myself and not for my partner. Recently they asked me if I was going to go with him to Almeida’s wedding. It seems old to have to be accompanied. I always go alone, delighted and very well accompanied by whoever I am with: people from my team, from my cabinet or by anyone. In all these years I have not spoken about my partner nor has my partner taken advantage of any circumstance to do business, as it seems has not been the case with the President of the Government. He is an anonymous person, we are adults and each one has his own life. I am a free and independent woman. Although it may be hard for some puritans on the left to believe it, on the right there are free women who work and do not need to display our personal lives.
Q.- Are they exercising machismo against you? It seems that the woman, as with Franco, had to depend on a man.
A.- They could ask me for explanations if they paid me for things like the president, who has five palaces, two Falcons, the spare one in case he is late for a communion, the helicopter… Or like some ministers, who make million-dollar renovations in their offices to get whimsical. But I have never cost the taxpayer a euro in my personal life. I have always lived with austerity. Linking a romantic relationship with political work and using all the powers of the State to harm a political opponent has other names and other nuances. And that’s what’s really dangerous.
Q.- What names and what dyes?
A.- Well, it is very close to dictatorial states. It is the use of all the tools of the State to damage political alternation and the political adversary, as is my case, through personal aspects.
Q.- Has there been machismo in all this controversy?
A.- If they said that I had benefited him so that they would give him something, I could explain it, but since that hasn’t been the case, I am a free and independent woman who does not have to explain her private life. Whether you like it or not, I have a wonderful private life that I take care of, feed and that makes us be normal politicians.
Q.- But has there been machismo? Does not answer…
A.- It’s just that I have never liked to use the term machismo… It is true that when the famous minister says the “front man with the right to touch” you realize the characters we are surrounded by.
Q.- That’s what a man from the PP says and he has to go live in Australia or Mars.
A.- What I see is that those of the I do believe you, sister They use banners to make fools of themselves and do not represent the vast majority of women. They have remained silent when thousands of Jewish women have been raped, tortured and displayed as trophies in the streets of Gaza. They have not come out to defend me when they have taken out a doll of mine, gutting me, in a procession through Castellana. And they are silent like doors when they try to discredit me from a personal perspective. That is communist, a persecution very typical of dictatorial states. But, to victimize ourselves, we already have the president and the La Moncloa serial, with his wife. Until I see the tax inspection of his brother, which I do not understand why it has not started, as they have done to my relatives, to all those related to the corruption plot of Koldo and Ábalos and of ministries and public organizations and of regional presidents; until you see their faces on a canvas hanging 10 meters high; Until he sees television cameras in his children’s schools… he has no right to put on that circus and turn on the fan to whine and tell the world that democracy owes him something and that if he leaves, democracy will end. No, you have to give explanations, as we all do, and stop manipulating the institutions as you please.
Q.-Did you make a mistake in the management of theo-case Ayuso or the González Amador case?
A.- I just don’t know what I’ve done, I don’t know where I’ve gone wrong. Have a relationship with him? I have not organized a press conference nor have I used the institutions. The only times I spoke was because the media asked me to. Since then, and look, very big things have happened, like the Prosecutor’s Office being split in two, the State Attorney General having a problem with Justice that could make him fall – in a democratic country the President of the Government would have fallen -, I’m staying out of everything. He has to defend himself. But what I cannot remain silent about is the use of the powers of the State against citizens. Because the next one is going to be you, a media outlet that the Government does not like, the journalist on duty…
Q.- Don’t doubt it, they have come for us and will continue to come.
A.- When tax inspections are opened to all the uncomfortable people, their personal data is chopped up in the related media and when the Prosecutor’s Office leaks them illegally to harm the adversary, everyone will begin to understand what we are talking about. These mafia and corrupt practices are those that cannot be tolerated. And all this, while covering up a real plot. That there are nine Koldo guns and 20 detainees…
Q.- They weren’t just pistols, there were rifles and shotguns. An arsenal that looked like that of the National Police.
A.- Trying to cover all this with a tax inspection is absurd. It demonstrates the impunity with which they believe.
Q.- Has the State Attorney General committed a crime with his partner?
A.- That is what Justice investigates and has to be clarified in court. But, clearly, what has happened here is not normal. He has not been treated like a normal citizen and the institutions are being used to air his life, manipulate it and crush him, instead of defending him. Citizens who are political objects for the Sánchez Government will be destroyed and helpless. That is the message that this matter is leaving us.
Q.- Alberto González Amador, have you committed tax fraud?
A.- Well, he has to prove right now what happened there, because in the lawsuits with the Prosecutor’s Office and the Treasury there are negotiations… And that is what is happening, violating his right to defense.
Q.- But it does seem that he has recognized some type of fraud.
A.- I can’t speak for him. Also, this is under summary secrecy, in theory. It is something that he, or rather his lawyers, has to talk about. With every word I say here I can only harm a procedure that, when it began, we did not even know each other.
Q.- I always say that the alleged crimes were committed before you had your first kiss, so it’s funny that they foist this mess on you.
A.- There comes a time when the truth doesn’t matter. The important thing is how we manage to forget why the Secretary of Organization of the PSOE had an organized network in the pandemic that created a fraudulent and defective purchasing system, endangering health workers and citizens. In desperation, the Sánchez Government has been able to mount all these serials against an individual, with the case of Begoña… Even with the nonsense against the Argentine president.
Q.- What do you think that Óscar Puente called Javier Milei a drug addict?
A.- It shows that this war was started by the Government.
Q.- Do you consider that Begoña Gómez is corrupt, as Milei said?
A.- That has to be decided by a judge, who has also begun to be harassed. Of course, he has carried out business that is inappropriate for the wife of the President of the Government. Nothing like this had ever been seen.
Q.- Are they corruption?
A.- It is doing business in the name of one’s role, obtaining supposed favors from the Council of Ministers. And, to cover it up, an institutional crisis with Argentina of surprising magnitude has been caused. It’s a real scandal.
