In recent years, more and more couples have decided to dedicate quality time to each other just before embarking on the adventure of becoming parents. Taking into account that in a few months we will have to face important changes, leaving much less time for intimate and romantic moments as a couple… The idea of going on a babymoon sounds very tempting, right?
But what exactly is a babymoon? This is a new trend in which couples take a last romantic getaway before the baby arrives and for many it serves as a finishing touch to seal this beautiful stage of their relationship as a couple. According to data extracted from the survey carried out by OnePoll in collaboration with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the innovative global cruise company, more than half of respondents (52%) had already heard of a babymoon, coinciding with 81% of them believe that a babymoon is a very attractive option, so much so that 84% of couples would plan a babymoon before the birth of their first child. The idea of carrying out this babymoon vacation is similar to a honeymoon, but in order to reconnect and preserve the essential union that is needed when becoming parents, 78% of couples agree, who consider it to be a good way to strengthen the couple’s relationship before the arrival of the baby. Among those who had not previously heard of this term, 74% consider it likely to plan a babymoon before the birth of their first child, respectively.
Likewise, according to this study, 63% of couples consider that taking a babymoon trip is the perfect experience to spend quality time together as a couple before there are no longer just two of them. A cruise can be a unique experience to live as a couple and make the sweet wait even more special. If you also add a romantic walk on the deck in the moonlight, it will be a dream babymoon. While some couples prefer to escape to a tropical beach, while others prefer to live one last big adventure in some distant and exotic destination before becoming parents, 25% of those surveyed agreed on one thing: A cruise is the ideal place to live this last truly memorable experience as a couple.
The vast majority of future moms and dads agreed that what they would like to do most during pregnancy is rest (58%), rekindle the flame of romance (52%), eat whatever they want (45% ) and above all pamper yourself (67%). That is why the ideal babymoon does not have to result in an excessively long or exhausting adventure, and a babymoon cruise* is the perfect way to enjoy all that tranquility. Already relaxing on the cruise and among the many options there are, 61% of those surveyed would choose to be pampered with massages in the spa, 57% would opt for baths in the pool and 53%, the most foodies, They would prefer to taste the best gastronomic options and drink (without alcohol, of course).
