JAMB Releases 2025 UTME Results, Withholds 39,834 Over Irregularities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which saw participation from over 1.9 million candidates. However, the board has withheld 39,834 results due to various infractions, including examination malpractices and biometric issues.

Breakdown of Withheld Results

According to JAMB, the withheld results encompass:

1,426 candidates under investigation for suspected examination malpractices.
96 candidates confirmed to have engaged in examination malpractices.
2,157 candidates with biometric verification issues.
3,656 candidates with extraneous fingerprints, indicating possible impersonation.

Additionally, 80 suspects are currently under interrogation for examination-related fraud, with Anambra State accounting for the highest number of suspects at 14.

Underage Candidates’ Performance

JAMB reported that out of 41,027 underage candidates who registered for the 2025 UTME, only 467 achieved scores that meet the threshold for exceptional ability. Notably, one underage candidate was disqualified due to involvement in examination malpractice.

How to Check Your 2025 UTME Result

Candidates can access their UTME results through the following methods:

Via SMS:

Send “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.
Ensure you have at least ₦50 airtime on your line.
You will receive your result as an SMS reply.

Online Portal:

Visit the official JAMB result portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng.
Log in with your credentials.
Click on “Check UTME Result” to view your score.

Common Issues and Solutions

“Result Not Available”: Your result may still be processing. Try again later.
“Result Withheld”: Your result has been withheld due to identified issues. Await further communication from JAMB.
Incorrect Phone Number: Only the phone number used during JAMB registration can receive results via SMS.
Network Issues: If you experience delays, check your network connection or SMS balance before trying again.
