The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna has announced a bold initiative aimed at securing an extension for the payment of school fees for the 2024/2025 academic session. In a press release dated April 29, 2025, the Office of the Public Relations Officer of the SUG addressed the urgent financial concerns affecting a large portion of the student body.
According to the release, the current deadline for school fees payment, as published on the university’s student portal, is April 30, 2025. However, the union acknowledges that many students are yet to fulfill this obligation due to pressing financial challenges.
“Solidarity Greetings, Great Futmites,” the statement begins, reflecting the union’s deep concern and solidarity with students facing difficulties.
In light of this, the SUG has scheduled an emergency meeting with the University Management to formally appeal for an extension of the deadline. The union emphasized that its goal is to ensure no student is left behind simply due to financial constraints.
“We strongly encourage all students to make their payments as soon as possible. Should the extension be granted, we urge everyone to take full advantage of it and complete their payments promptly to avoid any further issues with tests and examinations,” the statement reads.
The union reaffirmed its commitment to student welfare, noting that this move is part of broader efforts to safeguard academic participation and fairness across the board.
